Austria Klagenfurt has appointed Carsten Jancker as its new coach to prevent relegation. The 50-year-old takes over the team in the qualification group, where the club is second to last and faces the threat of relegation. Jancker said: 'We have now pressed the reset button, must detach ourselves from everything that distracts us, and focus on the next task.' The new coach will make his debut on Friday against Grazer AK, who are level on points with Austria Klagenfurt. Jancker has already gained experience in Austria, where he led SV Horn to the 2nd league and worked for Regionalliga club DSV Leoben until January. His role models are prominent, having played under Ottmar Hitzfeld and Giovanni Trapattoni in Munich. Jancker's contract runs until the end of the season and is paid by sponsor Helmut Kaltenegger. And with four games left to play, Jancker is confident that he can turn things around. But the task will not be easy, as Austria Klagenfurt faces tough competition in the qualification group. So the club will have to give it their all to avoid relegation. The first game under Jancker's leadership will be a crucial one, as a win against Grazer AK could give the team a much-needed boost.
